Contract: 21 hours/week (ideally over 3 days, 9.30-5.30 with an hour for lunch - but some flexibility is possible), initial 6-month contract

About Conic
Conic is an independent UK and Ireland film distributor working with bold, distinctive films from both emerging and established filmmakers. We release across theatrical, home entertainment and digital platforms, collaborating closely with filmmakers, sales agents, exhibitors and partners to bring great cinema to audiences. The role
We are seeking a Sales and Finance Assistant to support our sales, distribution and finance operations. This is a detail-oriented, organisational role that sits at the heart of the company, supporting revenue tracking, invoicing, reporting and day‑to‑day sales administration across theatrical and non‑theatrical releases.
The role is well suited to someone with a strong interest in independent film, excellent numerical and organisational skills, and a desire to gain a broad understanding of how films are released and monetised in the UK and Ireland.
Key responsibilities
Sales & distribution support
Assist with the administration of theatrical, non-theatrical and digital sales across the UK and Ireland
Take incoming booking requests and arrange screening materials
Use our internal booking system to track bookings
Liaise with exhibitors and partners regarding bookings, settlements and materials
Support budget tracking for projects and releases
Finance & Accounting Support
Contact cinemas for box office returns
Raise sales invoices and ensure timely billing
Track incoming payments and flag discrepancies or overdue accounts
Support quarterly and annual reporting
Help manage purchase orders, cost tracking and expense reporting per title
General and administrative
Maintain organised financial and sales records
Support funding applications and delivery of financial information as required
Provide general administrative support to the distribution team
Ad-hoc tasks supporting film releases as needed
Skills and experience
Essential
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Confident working with numbers, spreadsheets and financial data
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable juggling multiple projects and deadlines
Proficient in Excel / Google Sheets and standard office software – ideally you’ll love a spreadsheet!
A genuine interest in film, cinema and the independent sector
Desirable
Previous experience in film distribution, exhibition, sales, or a related media role
Basic knowledge of accounting principles or bookkeeping
Previous experience of accounting software (Quickbooks)
Business or finance-related degree or other qualifications
